Hi! and good Tuesday to all of us; and it's just 80 days to go before Christmas, GUYS. Today's "food for the soul":
THE GOOD NEWS
(06 October 2015)
"Out of the depths I cry to YOU, O LORD,
O LORD, hear my voice!
Let YOUR ears pay attention
to the voice of my supplication.
If you should mark our evil,
O LORD, who could stand?
But with YOU is forgiveness,
and for that YOU are revered.
I waited for the LORD, my soul waits,
and I put my hope in HIS word.
My soul expects the LORD
more than watchmen the dawn.
O Israel, hope in the LORD,
for with HIM is unfailing love
and with HIM full deliverance.
HE will deliver Israel
from all its sins."
[Psalm 130:1-8]
(A penitential psalm, but above all, a prayer of trust in GOD.
The prayer during a long expectation. Years of a human life, generations perhaps in the life of a nation. Have we already asked for twenty years?
I waited for the LORD, I put my hope in HIS word. It was true for the Jews expecting national liberation, it is also valid for us: have we received and are we enjoying all that GOD has promised us?
All has been given us in hope. As the watchman waits for the dawn, so the believer waits for a coming of CHRIST - the coming that she longs for.)
